Miscellany 2019
Weedhatches: Canals and, to a lesser extent, rivers tend to collect debris particularly at bridge crossings where people have thrown their rubbish or shopping trolley or stolen bicycle over the parapet. Most narrow boats have a 'weed hatch' accessed from the rear deck to reach the propeller and clear the weed, plastic bags and other items. |

While we were in Boston all the boats collected a good amount of the weed that was floating down the river on the flood. During the journey up though some other good hauls were made from the weed hatches: Bucket handle and line. Mooring rope. Suitcase [3/4 hr with a hacksaw to clear that]. Bag full of unwanted clothing. |

Over the three months the cruise was underway we were blessed most of the time with good weather. Storm clouds were however not far away on a number of occasions giving some great sunsets, and for early risers, sunrises. These are a selection of the shots that various members have posted on the cruise WhatsApp page. |
